A loader and any implements would add additional value. As far as weaknesses I don't think there are many with the 50 series JD's. They were pretty solid and trouble free. IMHO, The hydraulics are a little slow by today's standards and I know hi/lo range on the reverse (at least on the early 950's) is either too slow or too fast for my liking.

Oct 12, 2019 · Just purchased a 1986 1050 FWD with an 80 backhoe and front loader. Hydraulics seem realy slow and not as much power as I exspected. Fluid level is fine. Tried running it at various RPM and doesnt seem to matter. Front bucket seems very slow also. Im going to replace the Hyd. filter today.
